Ramsey-Daugherty feels that the personal supervision of each project is key to having a beautiful custom home. Visiting a job site and acting as superintendents, they are often on each site two, sometimes three times a day! Working with the same subcontractors and crews on nearly every job ensures that everyone is on the same page and understand the level of craftsmanship Ramsey-Daugherty expects.
While it may take a little longer than other contractors for Ramsey-Daugherty Company to construct a house, great care is taken by the principals to insure that every detail is seen to and that only the finest materials are used for each home. For example, the exterior walls are often framed with 2x6 lumber to strengthen and allow for better insulation, and in some larger homes, steel beams are used. Another example is that most homes of today use PVC plumbing piping, but Ramsey-Daugherty prefers to use cast-iron pipes, since they are quieter when water flows through them. These items typically add some price to the home, but in the long run, say 30 years from now, you'll notice the difference that first-rate materials have given.
